Our marriage getaway rhythm started years ago, in the second year of our marriage somewhere around 2001, before kids, and the hustle and bustle of life were on the radar. We were always intentional about our "getting away" time, reconnecting, talking about the year(s) gone by and the year to come. God did great things for us individually and also maritally during these important getaways.
As the years went by, many friends encouraged us to bring this to life for others in need of reconnection and renewal. Timing never seemed to be on our side, but each time we visited our special spot, we took notes about what we wanted this retreat to look like. Sixteen years later, after being a part of ReEngage and Regeneration from Watermark Community Church (at our church in The Woodlands) and a notebook full of ideas from our own marriage and other marriages, we are happy to announce our Couples Retreat 2023!
This retreat isn't an ordinary marriage retreat. We have made sure that the rooms are luxurious, the beach pristine, the groups and group leaders the most humble and approachable guides, the food five star, and the material the very best. This intensive is about personalized couples counseling and group times focused on the oneness God has in store for the covenant of marriage. Making Jesus We know that one size doesn't fit all when dealing with marriage and that so many specific issues can paralyze the joy we can and should receive from each other.
