May-Hem is Here… How to Keep It Simple During This Busy Month

As May unfolds, we all know it can bring a whirlwind of chaos for moms and dads and the even entire family. From end-of-school-year concerts, parties, and graduations to sports playoffs and recitals, the calendar fills up quickly. In the midst of this frenzy, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters and to feel overwhelmed by the demands of daily life. However, staying grounded and centered in Jesus can provide the peace and strength needed to navigate this busy season with grace and purpose.

  1. Remember who matters, and spend time with them: Whether it's through a small group, church community, or close friends, sharing the journey with others will remind us that we're not alone, and allow us to support one another!

  2. Time with Jesus: We say this all too ofthen, but staying close to Jesus will help bring a true perspective. Use the Pause App, or have your bible at the ready or another handy book to read to bring you back to God in the busyness.

  3. Embrace Simplicity: Did you overcommit? That may cause tension in your marriage or with the kids. Know that a night in this month may be just what the doctor ordered!

  4. Practice Gratitude: Gratitude can shift our perspective and help us find joy in the midst of busyness. Take time each day to thank God for His blessings, both big and small, and to recognize His presence in every aspect of life.

  5. Extend Grace: When you mess up, ask for forgiveness. When your husband or wife steps in it, be kind and gracious to forgive!!!

Questions for your Date Night this week:

  1. Do we feel overcommitted, not busy enough, or just right this month?

  2. Are we sharing this level of stress with God individually, with our closest friends, and with each other as we go through this?

  3. Are we looking forward to the summer season quickly approaching?
